What can be more evocative than the luscious red of an apple, the luxuriant softness of silk, the languid sweep of a dancer's arm?

In the world around us, our senses represent our perspective of the world. Our eyes see, our ears hear, we take in scents through our nose, we can taste different flavours with our tongue and we can feel different textures with our skin. What we perceive through these senses builds up our image of the world. Photography is not about just sight. We hope that through this theme, photographers can infuse and capture their senses in their photographs. It is a quest to new discoveries. Freely, let your senses take hold. This seminar invites photographers to celebrate the exquisite world of senses through creative, sensitive, and responsive exploration of our surroundings.

LIM SENG TIONG is a self employed commercial photographer by profession. Since 1998, he has been involved in several commercial projects for company annual reports, magazines as well as many other commercial publications, some of which include well-established corporations such as the Arts Magazine published by Singapore Arts Centre, LianHe Zao Bao Singapore Press Holdings and Silver Kris SIA in flight magazine just to name a few. During the period of 1980 to 1997, Seng Tiong assumed the honorable role of Executive Photographer of the Straits Times and was involved in covering various internationally recognized events such as the SEA games and major regional Arts Festivals. His strength in commercial works has allowed him to take on the role of a photography advisor in various schools, corporate organizations, community centres, clubs and societies for more than 25 years to date. Likewise, his high level of proficiency is apparent in his solo exhibitions he held on “Theatre Performance” at the Sub-Station, Art Gallery and in many other places such as the National University of Singapore. His exhibitions have even crossed national borders, having held a Sole Photography exhibition in Malaysia during the year of 1994. He has many professional affiliations with clubs across the globe, including the photographic society of New York, South East Asia and Malaysia. His expertise has also allowed him to clinch the National Arts Council 1995 Young Artist Award as well as the National Youth Service Award in 1991. During his talk, he will be bringing us through the basics of photography for stage performances. Such pointers would include the selection of equipment, film, lenses, filters as well as tripod. He would also elaborate on the methods to attain any form of creative achievements in this aspect, providing us enriching knowledge about stage photography.

WILLY FOO is a photographer by profession, specializing in several areas like action, wedding, travel, event and portrait photography. Many of his photos are published in established magazines and have held many exhibitions in Singapore and overseas. Such exhibitions include ‘Crossing Bridges 2005’ and ‘A European Odyssey’. He has made occasional appearances in local magazines such as ‘Digital Life’ and ‘Nikon Focus’. His willingness to impart knowledge to other eager learners is evident in the several workshops he has conducted on digital imaging and photography. Willy’s expertise has allowed him to win the coveted top prize in the highest profiled photography competition, “Life is Great”, organized by Great Eastern Life in 2005. He has also successfully produced a calendar “Tropicana 2006” which sells in all 7-11 stores situated in Singapore. His high level of skills has allowed him to take on many challenging and exciting roles, such as Freelance Writer for the Straits Times, Travel Photographer and Write for Silkwinds as well as Action Fashion Photographer for PhotoVideoi. Currently, he is in collaboration with other established wedding photographers to form the “Singapore Wedding Photographer Forum” which provides a common ground for photographers to pool in their resources and to allow wedding couples to gather information about their photographer for their wedding day. He is also working with other established wedding photographers to form the "Singapore Wedding Photographers Forum" which provides a platform for fellow photographers to share resources and wedding couples to get help on searching for their actual day photographer for their wedding day.

MR. GEOFF ANG- A self-taught lens man, Geoff took the Singapore & Asian fashion scene by storm with his beautiful, thought provoking and edgy images. In 2001 he started specialising in fashion photography. Now, he is indisputably one of the most in demand fashion photographers in both the local and international arenas. His photos show his acute sense and feel of style and technique, evident in his sophisticated use of lighting, his inspired creative eye and his proficiency in digital imaging. He specializes still-life, fashion and advertising photography. Geoff has attained several awards during his many years as a professional photographer. Accolades include the inaugural Singapore Fashion Awards where he won Fashion Photographer of the Year after only eight months in the fashion business; as well as advertising awards in the Clio, NY Festivals, The One Show, Indonesia Advertising Awards and the London International Advertising Awards.
